Small primitive woodcut of heart with 3 ventricles on F4v; large woodcut of Astrological Man on K4r. [40] leaves. 4to, 200x147 mm, modern olive calf; contents browned, gutters reinforced throughout, title and last leaf rehinged with marginal restoration, title soiled and spotted with ink scoring at bottom, occasional minor marginal repairs elsewhere. Written in 1316 and first published in 1478, "the first modern book devoted solely to anatomy" (Garrison-Morton). "Mondino's book dominated anatomy for over two hundred years . . .
